Slaapregressie uitgelegd: leeftijden, signalen en wat helpt
Wat een slaapregressie is, op welke leeftijden ouders ze vaak merken, wat erachter zit en de rustige, veilige stappen die je door de onderbroken nachten helpen.
At what ages do sleep regressions happen?
Parents commonly report them around 4 months, 8–10 months, 12 months, 18 months and 2 years. These are approximate and not every baby has every one.
How long does a sleep regression last?
There's no official answer and it varies between babies. Many families find it settles within a few weeks. If broken sleep goes on much longer or your baby seems unwell, check in with your health visitor or doctor.
Is a sleep regression the same as a developmental leap?
Not exactly. Some parents follow a leap model based on research by Hetty van de Rijt and Frans Plooij on infant regression periods and notice sleep changes around those times, but it's a framework some families find useful, not a medical fact.
